PAST
I completed Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. I completed Basic Enlisted Submarine School (BESS), Damage Control Training, Fire Fighting Training and Underwater Fire Control Technician 'A' School in Groton, Connecticut. I completed Underwater Fire Control Technician 'C' School for the Mk 118 Mod. 2, Ohio Class Submarine Fire Control System, in Kings Bay, Georgia. I received orders to the USS Maryland (SSBN 738) Gold Crew, but was never transferred to the ship due to being accepted to attend the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), Class of 1998, in Newport Rhode, Island.

I received orders to the USS Valley Forge (CG 50), home ported in San Diego, California. Once arriving in San Diego I was TAD to Antisubmarine Warfare Evaluator (ASWE) Course, PC-IMAT Course, and Fleet Recreation Management Course. I joined my ship 02 June 2003 upon their return from deployment. I was assigned as the Antisubmarine Warfare Officer (ASWO) and the Recreation Services Officer (MWR Officer). While attached to the Valley Forge I completed the Marine Safety International Navy Bridge Resource Management Course, Center for Naval Leadership's Division Officer Leadership Course, and the Coordinated Antisubmarine Warfare Operations Course. I made a Counter Narcotics Deployment, earned my Officer of the Deck Qualification, my designation as a Surface Warfare Officer and was one of the Decommissioning Officers of the USS Valley Forge. I was awarded two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals during my tour onboard the USS Valley Forge.
> More info about Naval Nuclear Power Training Command < Upon completing six months of intensive hands on training in the operation, maintenance, and supervision of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants I received orders and transferred to the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), home ported in Bremerton, Washington. Once arriving in Bremerton I was TAD to Shipboard Aircraft Fire Fighting. I reported aboard the Stennis upon her return to port on 14 February 2006. I was assigned to Reactor Training Division in Reactor Department for my qualifications. I qualified and stood Reactor Plant Watch Officer for 1-1/2 years. I was Reactor Laboratories Division Officer for six months and Reactor Electrical Two Plant Division Officer for six months. I made a Middle East deployment and the Stennis supported Operations Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Iraqi Freedom (OIF), maritime operations, coalition operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations (AOO), Expeditionary Strike Force (ESF) training and Exercise Valiant Shield 2007. While attached to the Stennis, I completed Fremont Maritime Service's four day Advanced Fire Fighting Course and I served as Repair Four Locker Officer. I also began working on my Master of Engineering Management degree from Old Dominion University. |
